Our DC W Bro Geoff Durston was presented with his 50 year certificate.
Geoff was Initiated into Sodbury Vale Lodge on the 10th October 1973. He was proposed by his father, Frank, who had been Initiated in SVL 4 years previously. When Geoff was Initiated there was no such thing as Sodbury Masonic Hall. In those days, lodge meetings were held in Chipping Sodbury Town Hall, with the festive board at the nearby Portcullis Pub. Apart from receiving his 50 years in Freemasonry certificate, Geoff is also the current longest serving member of SVL. He was the Chaplain of the lodge from May 2016 – May 2018, when he then took over the office of Director of Ceremonies, an office that he continues to hold.
