On Monday 24th March 2025, 13 brethren from Sodbury Vale Lodge 4329 ventured to the dark side………..BRISTOL!
It wasn’t strictly a Sodbury Vale On Tour (SVOT) visit because it started out as a personal invitation to W Bro Nick Cragg, from Bro Rich Little of Powell Lodge 2257. However, Bro Rich suggested that other brethren from Chipping Sodbury might be interested in attending? Well the brethren of Sodbury Vale Lodge don’t need a second invitation! 13 of us, in four cars, headed into the dark and outer reaches of Bristol, where Powell Lodge were holding a 3rd Degree Ceremony.
Anyone that’s ever witnessed a 3rd Degree in Bristol will confirm, it’s very unique! Two weeks previously, our very own Bro Justin Matthews completed his 3rd Degree in Sodbury Vale Lodge. Which afterwards he explained he found extremely strange and bizarre. However his facial expressions after now witnessing a Bristol 3rd Degree were priceless.
All in all it was a great Bristol ceremony, fine festive board and having now returned from the dark side, the brethren of Sodbury Vale Lodge look forward to their next visit.
